#11 - I Comment Therefore I Am

Some weeks ago Gaelikaa @Out of lreland Into India posted her I Comment Therefore I Am Post in which she wrote that a woman in Britain, Isa Blyth, has lived to be over 100 years old.

Gaelikaa wrote:

Apparently, the secret of her longevity is the fact that she has remained a virgin for her entire life. Well, what can you say to that? Congratulations, maybe? The woman is obviously a saint and her place in heaven must be assured - whenever she cares to go there, that is! Actually, I am quite sure that virginity, or lack of it, has very little to do with longevity. But it made me think all the same.
I commented:

Just like Ayak, I don't see how virginity can prolong your life. I thought virginity make some people look too old and unhappy. Good sexual life is likely to make one more juvenile ;)!

I think that, probably, Isa Blyth's virginity was not her own personal choice. Perhaps she did not meet the right man to explore her inner being - the sexual side - this forced her to decide to give up on sex althogether.

At this stage of my life, the idea of not getting down on it kills the soul. Plus without regular action in the bedroom how can I possibily receive the GIFT ;]? Healthy, regular, sex gives life - both to the soul and in the form of a baby. Well, this is what I concluded in my project ;)!

But, if she believes that being virgin helped her into her old age then as Gaelikaa wrote "congratulations" to Isa Blyth.

Do you believe that virginity helps one live longer?

  1. First, wanted to thank you for the comment on my blog. I hope you get your BFP soon!
Second, that is a very interesting question, but I don't believe it has anything to do with a longer life.

  2. I don't think so. I think that sex, well, not just sex, rather LOVE MAKING, is VERY healthy. Releases endorphins and I've heard has several positive affects on the health.
    Great post :)

  3. Loved the post! Yeah, I don't think going without sex one's whole life is going to make the average person want to live longer. =)

  4. I love this post. So interesting. Not sure what the reason is for her longevity, but I like your comment. Also, it sounds bad but I don't think I want to live for that long unless I'm in pretty good shape and mind. I dunno :)

  7. These "I Comment Therefore I Am" posts have a knack of keeping topics up in front of the readers, don't they? I originally saw this item on a blog from another Indian blogger. It's nice to give the topic another lease of life by giving your take on it. That's why I love doing that feature!

    Lovely post!
