Berry’s First Party

Sunday we had our baby shower – at which hubby’s boss gave a speech and said “This is the first time I am attending a party for a person I haven’t met yet.” he is from UK too, his wife is American so she organised the party with his secretary.

It was a success.

We were surrounded by people whom made us feel  welcome on day one of our arrival in Canada. The party confirmed how we feel so at home already. Berry brings us more blessing each day. Also the party made us realise how quick time flies. We can’t believe we’ve been here for 8 months. I didn’t have my camera to document every detail, just few pictures on hubby’s iPhone. But once we got home I took some snaps of the items Berry received. This super cool stroller was a big cherry on top of the cake:PA305459We were overwhelmed by all the kindness and best wishes, I  shed tears. We feel blessed beyond belief. I give thanks to Almighty.

We have to buy something for the hostesses – is that how it works?

We also thought to wait till Berry is born before writing thank you cards to everyone who bought Berry something – or shall we write the thank you card before?

Questions: What would be the best gift to buy for the person who hosts a baby shower for you? When would be appropriate to write a thank you card for the people who bought a gift for your baby?

  1. I would do thank you cards asap because once baby comes you will have soo much to do you might not be able to find the time. Or if you are doing baby announcements, you could double it as a thank you card. :)

  2. i would also say to write the thank you cards right away ... as for a gift, maybe you can get them a gift card to one of their favorite restaurants, etc. some place they normally go for lunch?

so happy that you had a great shower! it is a blessing to feel loved! :)

  3. I would agree that you should write the thank you cards sooner rather than later. I recently sent a fried a gift for her baby and had to end up going over to help her write thank you cards cause now that baby is here she has zero time.

  4. i would definitely send them sooner...and I really need to get on it! I'm behind and really need to get them out before Elyse arrives!

So glad you had such a wonderful shower!

  5. Get the thank you cards out before baby gets here. If I didn't get cards out before they would not have went out.

As far as a gift for the host if it's just one a massage or a pedicure giftcard would be nice. Something that they can enjoy.

  6. Glad you had a nice shower! :)

I wouldn't wait to buy a gift for the hostess and write out thank you cards. And, I would write out thank you cards even if you are planning on sending out a baby announcement as well. The thank you comes from you, not Berry, so there's no reason to wait :).

  9. since you are so close to your due date you may be able to do a combination of a birth announcement and a thank you card. otherwise i would just send them out as soon as you get a chance because when berry comes he/she will be taking up all your time ;)
