My 3 Not So Nice Traits

So for #24 of Blog Every Day In May is to share:

Your top 3 worst traits

Messy= I try my best as I can, but my mother told me I was messy so I am still messy. When I lived at home with her I kept my bedroom tidy and the house spotless every weekend. The only thing I wouldn’t tidy up were my books – they just spread out even when I don’t want them to. As a married woman and mother of a toddler, I am messy because sometimes I’m just too tired or busy with other important things to clean up. Also I hope to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes so I keep them for too long and they take space. But when I clean up everything looks like a photo from a glossy magazine {or nearly} and I get upset if it’s not kept in that way by my loved ones.tidy1P3021156tidy2tidy3

Never on Time= 80% of the time I am late for appointments. I am a believer of the fashionable late motto. I don’t like to be too early because I look awkward when I am waiting and I don’t have anything to read or do. The other day AMI said “I believe you will be late even for your own funeral.” Of course I laughed because I would like to be very late for my own funeral {hopefully I will be parting somewhere else}.

Touchy= I write this because my younger brother tells me so. I can explain. I don’t like rudeness or rude jokes. He knows this and that’s the first thing he does to annoy me. So I get offended by this very easily. Also my girlfriends used to affectionately call me “stupidina” {silly little girl}, I hated it. Not to stereotype but, I once read an article in which a Ghanaian singer says that Ghanaian people can be very touchy when it comes to certain words. For instance the word silly is offensive to me because it derives from stupid so if someone tells me silly even if they are joking I become a little touchy.

  2. When I saw the title of your blog post, the first thing that came to mind is that I'm messy. I couldn't help but chuckle at that being the first you wrote. In my case, it not just my books...my entire life, in fact even the way I think is messy, but I'd like to believe its an organised mess ;). Hahaha at never on time, it feels like no one in South Africa ever is, you'd fit right in.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. I think messy too, that's why sometimes I find it hard to be concise. I should stop in South Africa one day :)

  3. A beautiful home is beautiful. This sounds like my Momma. We always had the cleanst house in town but she never felt it was clean enough. I live in Tornado Alley. I remember a few years back when one touched down near my house. The sirens were going off and the news was yelling for people to take cover. What were we doing. Washing the dishes. My Momma goes, "if we gonna die than at least when they find us they will know my house was clean" True story!

  4. When I saw messy I was like how could i forget that? I'm ultra messy. My house will never be as nice as yours. I only clean when someone's coming over.. If its clean itz caz I bribed my little sister to do it

  5. That's a really cool floor! And how I wish my room looked like that. Bleh to messy baby hands. And laziness...

I'm indecisive, can't let go of things, and as my husband kindly points out: nag. Nagging though. I mean, that just depends whose side you're on right?

    1. That was a moment of pride for me that I had to capture before the toys and book and toddler hand prints went everywhere

  6. That room doesn't look very messy. If you want to see messy you should come over to my house sometime. It was nice to get to know you better with this meme! Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. I overthink things, my husband is the opposite (it's good cause he let's go of things more easily; I'm a people pleaser (but as I get older it's not as bad as it use to be, but it's still there); and I'm also a late bird (meh!).

  8. I love all the color in your photos! Your home looks so happy and lived in. :) I can be touchy too, but I have to remind myself that sometimes people don't have bad intentions in what they say. Also...I'm so late...I'm usually texting SORRY, LATE AGAIN! Luckily in Korea being 30 minutes late is still ok and everyone does it ALLLLL the time. Yay!

  9. Your place is beautiful and cozy. I am trying to be much neater before the baby comes.

  10. If that's messy than I'm just flat out disgusting LMBO. Dominic is in my lap while I'm viewing your post and he keeps screaming ELMO!!!!! because he see's your daughters toy in the photo. HA

My worst traits are I over eat, I over spend, and I have a hell of a time sticking to things (even i'm shocked i graduated- LOL)

  11. Love your home.

When I was a young girl I told my dad that he was silly (because he made me laugh and I found him funny) I was yelled at and told to go to my room. I was so confused and then later my mom explained to me. So although I meant the word as funny he took it as me calling him stupid. I don't use the word to describe anyone but myself now.

    1. I can't stop laughing. I can imagine the scene, this explains that I am right to say Ghanaians can be touchy regarding some words :).
