The Secret of Life

#4 of Blog Every Day In May is

Favourite quote {from a person, from a book, etc.} and why you love it

the secret of life

I captured the photo in Paris, 2010. I wonder how many times the guy tried to get the ball on his neck while standing on his hands, maybe at first try or many tries. What matters is in the end he got it right.

For this challenge I felt bad sharing only one quote because there are so many lovely quotes I love. I settle on the quote about because yesterday I decided to try a new yoga video by Jillian Michaels {I would never thought I was going to use her video for yoga practice but there I was sweating thanks to her meltdown yoga poses}. At end of practice she said something very interesting

“sometimes we are resistant by things or intimidated by things but when you actually try it and you put yourself out there and you take a chance and you take a risk, you grow in ways you never imagine possible.” she continued saying “get out of your comfort zone and try something different. Don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to struggle, don’t be afraid to learn, it’s about practice.”

That long quote brought to mind once again The Alchemist, the modern classic literature by Paulo Coelho, concisely it quotes the secret of life. I think about my daughter, to take her first step she had to fall many times to be able to run. I want to remember this quote because as I work towards my dream career, I may fall but I have to get up and pursue that dream because in the it will come true.

  1. I've never read anything by Coelho, but I might have to fix that after reading your quote. Also, your photo is stunning and goes perfectly with your message! Great share. :)

  2. I just found your blog through the Blog Every Day in May Challenge.

I think this quote is soooo important! Haha, I may take FOREVER to get up after I fall down, but I keep getting up! The strive is the most important thing, the journey.

And ooh, Paris! A beautiful city!

  3. that's an AMAZING photo!

Yes, I L*O*V*E them and look forward to receive great advice and encouragement. Let me know you are here, just write hi :)
