Weekend Stills

theodora ofosuhima photography IMG_1814This week little boy’s interest in reading extended as far as for me to read him one of his favourite baby books

Another week captained by sickness.

AOI was feeling much better by Wednesday. But I had flu symptoms on Thursday morning and by the evening I was in bed with painful body. I thought I was about to die. I had a homemade garlic, ginger and lemon infusion. Friday I was feeling much better so much me the kids ventured outside in the snow for five minutes. We needed after a whole week locked in the house. AOI was  so happy she helped herself into her snowsuit. We ate some snow flakes.

Saturday morning I woke up feeling rotten in my stomach. I lost appetite but managed to eat something by 11am. I had to cancel a photo-shoot because the lady confirmed too late. I finished to edit some photos for a client of mine, delivered them in Dropbox and then just allowed sickness to be my companion. Hubby put TOI down for a nap and I cuddle AOI and her elephant Tusca and as she fell asleep I got more and more drawn into Anne Frank's novel. Which I finished. After a bit of rest the kids woke up. Hubby cooked lunch and I opted to stay away from food for a bit.

AOI started to complain about stomach pain while eating but she was avoiding to eat so we thought she was playing a trick on us. But she ate the food in the end and then started complain even more about stomach pains. I insisted we take her straight to the drop in clinic. She was much better when we arrived and after. We left the clinic less worried because we knew that we had to be on clear liquid diet for the next 24hrs. Then we had to eat play food and build up from there for our bellies to settle to a natural healthy state again.

In the evening AOI was feeling much better, I had the chills and baby boy had a bit of temperature but nothing to be scare of. In all of that I felt so blessed to have such a kind and caring daughter who will not ask me a question but goes and brings something to cover my body as soon as she hears me say "I am cold" and again when it's time to sleep she fills a cup with water and sits on my bedside table without me asking her to do so. I hug her and say "I'm so blessed to have you!" She may be a toddler who can throw awful tantrums at time but her unconditional love is bigger than the universe! Love and gratitude is what I feel right now.

We still managed to

  • read, play with blocks, play in the snow and eat some {for about five minutes}, little boy play pee-a-boo behind the curtains, finding his shadow and sister hand painting

  1. Bummer about being sick. :( I love the picture of baby boy pointing at his shadow. I can't believe how big he's getting.

Yes, I L*O*V*E them and look forward to receive great advice and encouragement. Let me know you are here, just write hi :)
